How to tighten a wheel correctly
- Find the authoritative torque figure for the exact vehicle and wheel.
- Inspect threads and seating faces; do not lubricate unless instructed.
- Start every bolt or nut by hand to reduce cross-threading risk.
- Snug the wheel evenly in the specified diagonal sequence.
- Set the wrench and pull smoothly until it signals once.
- Do not keep pulling after the click or use the torque wrench for removal.
