LASER 9226 Balance Shaft Locking Tool Gen 3 PSA EB2 Engine Chain Drive

The latest generation of EB2 (Stellantis) petrol engines are chain driven. For this reason, a new balance shaft alignment tool is required. The Laser 9226 has been introduced to allow alignment of the balance shaft to be carried out on these later chain-driven engines. To identify if the engine being worked on is belt or chain drive look in to the oil filler cap, if belt driven the belt is visible in the oil filler cap. If the oil filler is positioned higher with no belt visible then it is a chain driven engine.
